Away From Home
Last year, I decided to apply for an exchange program to UC, University of Canberra, and after tons of paper work and hard work, finally here I am. This is the very first time in my life that I ever have the chance to live outside my home all by myself for such a long period of time.
Therefore, I have to start learning how to do everything on my own, from laundry to cooking, pretty much everything that keep me alive. But the problem is that I don't actually know how to cook, I tried a few times back when I was in Taiwan, it's not too bad, but that was like two years ago, so now I feel like starting everything all over again, start everything from the beginning.
Before I came to UC, I was doing backpacking for two month in Australia and New Zealand. During the time, I've learned how to make wrap rolls, which I think is the easiest thing to make, also quick and healthy. When I was traveling, people always tell me that pasta is the easiest food for backpackers like us, it's like basic, everybody should know how to make it. Therefore, I tried to make it, but it turned out pretty bad since that's my very first time, yet I didn't even look up for any recipes! But everything changed after I got to UC.
After I settled down here, I looked up online, and search for a proper recipe for how to make a good pasta, then it ended up pretty well, also got better every time ever since. Then I started to invite people for coming to my place and eat, I'm glad that people all like my food and even asked me how do I make it.
Then there's one night, I was struggling what to do for my dinner since I'm sick of eating the same food for the whole week, so I have to cook something new. Therefore, I looked up for some easy Taiwanese food to cook, but after an hour or two, I still can find anything decent. They're either too hard or not suitable. So in the end, I decided to make one easy cooking web site for beginners who want to make Taiwanese food by myself!
So let's see what's going to happen next, shell we? ;)
