Easy Taiwanese Dish - Preserved Eggs with Tofu

So sometimes when you cook, you just don't feel like enough. Therefore, here's a dish that's suitable for you if you are inviting people to your meal or if you are just super hungry. It's nice and easy, yet pretty special! Personally, I love this dish. It's yummy, but not too oily, which matches perfectly with other food!

Well, same as my last post, there isn't any English name for this dish, so we have to try our best to make you guys understand! lol

Time requirement
Difficulty

Here's what we need:
1. One or two preserved duck eggs, or some people called it black eggs.

You can find this easily in almost any Asian stores, but notice that the inside has to be black, or you might get the wrong ones!

 2. Silken tofu (soft tofu)

You can also find this in Asian stores, and be careful that it should be soft. It's quite confusing, personally, I got the wrong ones for the first time.

3. These are the sauce that you need.
Soy sauce, black vinegar, olive oil, salt and sesame oil.

Well, some of them are Taiwanese sauce, but I don't think it matters too much with this dish.

So now let's get started!

Step 1
Cut your garlic in really small pieces, as small as you can.

Step 2
Cut some green onions, the size doesn't really matter so much.

 Step 3
Put the tofu in a bowl. There should be some water in the tofu box, but it's alright, you can put them in as well, so the tofu won't be too dry.

Then pill the eggs and put them in. You can either slice them or not, it doesn't really matter.

After these, put the garlic and the green onions in. Then pure some olive oil, soy sauce, black vinegar, sesame oil, and a bit of salt on top.

Step 4
Start slicing it!

And then... here we are!
Nice and easy, ready to serve! :)

Tips: If you don't know how much sauce you should put, then better start from a bit, then put more later on if you think it's not enough! ;)

  1. I've never try that kind of weired coloured eggs. So, when I saw that egg for the first time at the chinese grocery, I run away... from those eggs and never eye contact with them!! because it looks kind of creepy for me lol..... but wanna try that kind of taiwanese food which looks totally new for me :)
